Sufficient delight

Hold all your dreams and desires and aspirations in your heart, and there give them to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, for him to hold and handle.

This way you can breathe today's breath, and receive today's grace, and let today's grace work itself out in love through faith.

This way you can give God all your heart today, and he can hold all you need and and all you long for together in his heart, as he holds the fullness of your heart in the fullness of his heart.

This way you can be occupied with today, with the decisions and opportunities of today that are present before you, without needing to be preoccupied with the decisions and opportunities of tomorrow and the days beyond.

If God gives us tomorrow or the days beyond, he will do so with all of today's dreams and desires and aspirations held in view, within him and before him. Dream the dream, desire the desire, aspire the aspiration, but do it with him, together as loving Father and trusting daughter, as loving Lord and trusting bride, as loving, life-giving Spirit and the trusting womb of his delight.

This way, today, you can attend to being God's child, God's beloved, the one who bears God in the world and brings his dreams, his desires, his aspirations to light, not apart from you, but in you and through you and with you. Say, "Yes, according to your delight." and neither lose the good opportunities before you tomorrow and the days beyond, nor lose the opportunities for good before you today.

Be present with God today as he is present with you today; give all of yourself rising from yesterday, aware of grace today, and anticipating grace tomorrow; give all of your time and all of your moments and all of your heart in each moment at every time to the Eternal One who holds you with everlasting love.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will make your vindication shine like the light, and the justice of your cause like the noonday.

This is God's promise. Has he ever lied? Do you respond to the truth by obeying the truth? Delight yourself in him. He delights in you. You will know his delight more deeply and truly as you more deeply and truly delight in him.

But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today.

This is God's instruction and command. Has he ever lead astray or commanded contrary to our blessing? He teaches peace and he commands goodness. Seek first God's rule and right relationship in all these things; all these things will be added to you. You will know more than enough of his grace today to work out more than enough of his mercy today; you will be satisfied with his peace, with his love, with his good and perfect will today.
